Below are some of the most common questions people ask

Yes, I always deliver every cake in person on the day, and setting up at the venue is part of the service. That way you can be sure that it’s perfect & waiting for you when you arrive.

Delivery & setting up of wedding cakes to CB, CO & CM postcodes is FREE. For other areas, delivery is charged at 45p/mile, round trip from Sible Hedingham, Essex.

There’s no notice period as such – it’s more a case of whether I’m still available for your date. I usually have some bookings up to two years ahead, while others might be made with only a couple of months to spare. Doing everything myself means I can only take a limited number of commissions, and for peak months my calendar can often fill up a year in advance. Therefore please book as early as you can to avoid disappointment. If you’re not yet sure what you want, you can save the date with a £60 deposit, which gives you a firm reservation while you decide on the detail.

Absolutely – just get in touch to arrange a date. Face-to-face consultations are available by appointment at Martels Wedding Village in Barnston, usually on Saturday afternoons or any time on a Monday including evening. A random selection of four of my cake flavours is provided for you to sample when you come, free of charge. When it comes to choosing which ones you’d like for your wedding cake, you can be sure everything on the full list will be just as yummy, so then it’s just a case of deciding!
