Below are some of the most common questions people ask, but if yours isn't here please ask!

Do you deliver & set up cakes at the venue?
Yes, I always deliver every cake in person on the day, and setting up at the venue is part of the service. That way you can be sure that it’s perfect & waiting for you when you arrive.

How much is delivery?
Delivery & setting up of wedding cakes to CB, CO & CM postcodes is FREE. For other areas, delivery is charged at 45p/mile, round trip from Sible Hedingham, Essex.

How much notice do you need for a cake order?
I usually have some bookings up to two years ahead, while others might be made with only a couple of months to spare, so there’s no notice period as such – it’s more a case of whether I’m still available for your date. Doing everything myself means I can only take a limited number of commissions, and for peak months my calendar can often fill up a year in advance. Therefore please book as early as you can to avoid disappointment. If you’re not yet sure what you want, you can save the date with a £60 deposit, which gives you a firm reservation while you have time to decide on the detail.

Can we come and see you to discuss our wedding cake & sample some of your flavours?
Absolutely – just get in touch to arrange a date. Face-to-face consultations are available by appointment, on Saturday afternoons or Monday evenings (however if neither of these days works for you please ask, as occasionally other days may be possible depending on my cake load). At your consultation a selection of four of my cake flavours (according to availability) is provided for you to sample free of charge. Alternatively, if you’d like to request particular flavours to taste there’s a small charge of £2.50 per flavour to cover some of my costs, payable in advance – but this will be deducted from the cost of your cake when you order.

Do you only make wedding cakes?
Over the last 20-odd years I’ve made every kind of cake imaginable, for every occasion. I couldn’t quite bear to hide them all away, so you can still see some of my favourites here. However I now focus my skills on what I’ve always loved most: wedding cakes. That said, if you’ve got another big occasion coming up that you’d like a spectacular tiered creation for, please drop me a line. You never know, I might be tempted!
